Lamar CISD Announces Additional Leadership Transitions

Marjorie Garcia
Principal
Bowie Elementary School  
Marjorie Garcia has been named the principal of Bowie Elementary School. Ms. Garcia brings 12 years of experience in education and a strong background in both instruction and leadership. She currently serves as assistant principal at Beasley Elementary. She is a proud graduate of the University of Houston and has served in a variety of roles, including bilingual language arts teacher, instructional coach, summer school coordinator, MTSS and 504 lead, and testing coordinator. Ms. Garcia is deeply committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment where all students can thrive.

Katherine Lange
Principal
Terry High School
Katherine Lange has been named the principal of Terry High School. Mrs. Lange brings 14 years of experience in public education and a strong background in instructional and campus leadership. She began her career as a high school special education teacher and department chair in Pasadena ISD before joining Terry High School as an English teacher and later serving as the College and Career Facilitator. Mrs. Lange went on to serve as an assistant principal at George Junior High and Wright Junior High before becoming principal of Bowie Elementary. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Houston and a Master of Education from Houston Christian University. A proud member of the Red Track, Mrs. Lange is excited to return to Terry High School and serve the Ranger community in this new role.

Kassandra McCann
Principal
Leaman Junior High School
Kassandra McCann has been named the principal of Leaman Junior High School. Ms. McCann brings 15 years of experience in education, including a strong background in instructional leadership. She began her career in McAllen ISD before joining Lamar CISD, where she taught at Foster High School. She later served as an assistant principal at Briscoe Junior High and has spent the past seven years at Fulshear High School, most recently as an associate principal. Ms. McCann holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Texas–Pan American and a master's degree in educational leadership from Lamar University. She is passionate about supporting teachers, strengthening instructional systems, and continuing the strong traditions of the Purple Track.

Trey Watkins
Principal 
Fulshear High School  
Trey Watkins has been named the principal of Fulshear High School. Mr. Watkins brings 11 years of experience in education, including roles as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, associate principal, and most recently, principal of Leaman Junior High. Mr. Watkins enters this new role with strong relationships and a deep understanding of the Charger community. He earned a bachelor's degree in social science from the University of North Texas and a master's degree in educational leadership from the University of Houston–Victoria. Mr. Watkins is committed to supporting high-quality instruction and fostering strong community engagement, and he looks forward to continuing that work at Fulshear High School.
