In the case of an absence, a parent or guardian may send a written excuse letter on the day their student returns. The letter should include the current date, the date(s) of absence, and the reason for the child's absence. If the child is absent three days or more due to illness, a doctor’s excuse note is required. We will not excuse absence due to family trips or vacations. Truancy documentation can be filed after ten unexcused absences.
Emails can be sent to Monica Cruz -Monica.Cruz@lcisd.org

You are welcome to send treats for your child to celebrate their birthday. Please ensure they are delivered by 9:00 a.m. so we can verify the ingredients. Remember, we are a nut-free campus, so nuts may not be listed in the ingredients. Ensure you communicate with your child’s teacher to provide enough for one treat per student. A professional bakery or grocery store must provide treats; they cannot be homemade.

Students are marked tardy if they arrive after 7:45 a.m. If your child is tardy, you will need to accompany them to the school office for sign-in before they can head to class. Arriving late not only hinders your child's access to important instruction but also disrupts the learning experience for other students. Additionally, excessive tardies or early pickups could lead to truancy charges and/or an investigation into residency status.

Grade-Level Support Parents
Room Parent/Grade Level Parent
Parents may volunteer to serve as a Grade Level Representative. Once they have volunteers, the teacher(s) will email parents introducing the representative and informing them that they can email this person their information so they can be added to the birthday list. Once the representatives compile the information they receive from the parents who want to participate, they will send the birthday list to these parents. The representative can also email these parents volunteer opportunities throughout the year. The only students who will be on the birthday list will be those whose parents emailed the representative. The representative can only email birthday lists and volunteer opportunities to the parents who have reached out to them. Grade-level parents will also help with coordinating volunteers for campus events and may come to school to volunteer each week throughout the year.
