Weekly Message from the Principal

Dear Terrell Elementary Families,
What a fantastic week we’ve had celebrating Red Ribbon Week! I want to thank each and every one of you—students, staff, and families—for your enthusiastic participation. From creative outfits to meaningful conversations about making healthy choices, your energy and commitment made this week truly special.
As we wrap up October and head into November, I’d like to share a couple of exciting events coming up next week:
🎨 Tapestry Event at Foster High School
Join us in celebrating the rich diversity and creativity across our district. The Tapestry event showcases student artwork, performances, and cultural displays—an inspiring evening for the whole family.
🎉 PTA Family Fun Night – Thursday Evening
Our amazing PTA is hosting a night of games, crafts, and community fun! We’re looking forward to seeing families come together for laughter, connection, and school spirit. Thank you to those who’ve already signed up to help with booths and activities.
Let’s keep the momentum going as we continue to build bold learners and bright futures at Terrell Elementary!

Warmly,
Brittany D. Carpenter

BoosterThon Wrap Up

As we wrap up our fundraiser, we have some exciting news to share with you! Thanks to your incredible support and generosity, we have raised $9,000!

We had a school-wide goal to raise $18,000 to go toward equipment cages, field trips, and other programs, but as a school, we would also be able to slime Mrs. Carpenter! To see if we can still make it happen, our fundraising platform, MyBooster.com, will remain open for one more week!

Could you reach out to one or two more people to see if they could help us reach our goal?

Once again, thank you for your unwavering support, whether through donations, volunteering, or spreading the word. Your involvement has made a tremendous difference and showcases the strength of our school community!

- Brittany Carpenter
Principal - Terrell Elementary

P.S. We extend a BIG thank you to our PTA volunteers, including our fundraising coordinator, Ms. Taressa Penny, who played a crucial role in making this fundraiser a resounding success. Your dedication to our school community is deeply appreciated! 🙌THANK YOU!!

Terrell Table- Representing Nigeria

In addition to attending this event with your students, we would like your help. All campuses are assigned a country to represent at this event which showcases a culture of students who attend Lamar CISD.

The Terrell team will be representing the country to Nigeria. We are asking familes who have any artifacts which you can loan us for our display or any ideas for activities we could do at this table to share about the country of Nigeria, please reach out to Ms. Jessica Nino-Bermudez - Jessica.Bermudez@lcisd.org

School Meals

  • You may use school cafe to add funds to your student's account for breakfast or lunch purchases.
  • Parents may attend lunch with their students. Please bring your ID and check in with the office prior to lunch start time.
  • To preview school menus, please visit the child nutrition website.
  • If you are delivering lunch for your student, please plan to bring it at least 15 minutes before their lunchtime. We will not accept food delivery services for students.
  • If sending a lunch for your child, remember we are a nut-free school. Students who bring items with nuts will be seated at a separate table during lunch; we recommend avoiding this as much as possible.
  • For snacks- please only send one snack, as this is a working snack time within the classroom. Ensure you send a snack that is not messy and does not need utensils. (Such as- Goldfish, pretzels, or animal crackers!😊) Nut products are not permitted during snack.
  • Breakfast doors close at 7:43 AM. Please arrive no later than 7:40 AM if your child needs to eat breakfast. Instruction begins in classes at 7:45AM.

Transportation Changes

Transportation changes will not be accepted after 2:10 pm or 10:45 on early release dates. To submit a transportation change, please call the office at (832) 223-6500 or write a note for your child to bring with them, reflecting the transportation changes. Neither email nor voicemail is an approved method of communication for transportation changes.

You may check out your child early if needed for doctor's appointments or other necessary reasons until 2:30 PM on full days or 10:05 on early release dates. Please limit this as much as possible, as we are actively instructing and learning until 3:05 PM each day. If your student repeatedly leaves early, they are potentially missing key information.
