Terrell Recognized as a Distinguished Kindness School

I am so proud to announce that Terrell Elementary has been named a Distinguished Kindness School. To achieve this award, we showed continued support of spreading random acts of kindness through our school and took a school wide pledge committing to being kind to others. One of the students favorite activities was our "kindness quilt" that you can see when you enter our building. Keep up the kind efforts, Koalas!

Student Council Supports our Can Drive

Through the entire month of October, Terrell Student Council will support the dry food and can drive for LCISD students in need. Please send in non-perishable food items with your students. These items will be distributed through our Student Services department to LCISD families in need. Give back and help out your community.

Respect during the month of October

October's Character Educational Pillar is Respect. Students will discuss what respect looks like at home, at school, and in their community. This provides a great opportunity for home discussions with ways we can respect wild life, the environment, and others in our community.

Innovative Team Welcomes Ms. Mya

We have a new Science Lab Instructor who is helping our Koalas engage in exciting and inquisitive hands-on experiments. The Innovative Team is happy to welcome Ms. Mya, a former Pre-K para at Terrell. We are thrilled to have her positive energy adding to our stellar line up of Innovative staff.

Parents' Corner

Attendance is important. Gone are the days when you can stay home and rest on a Monday from a tough weekend. Every day counts towards educational minutes (or loss of those minutes). Students are the most successful with their attendance responsibility is shared by the entire family. Even leaving early has a significant impact on learning loss. We are a bell to bell teaching school. That means instruction starts at 7:45 and doesn't end until 3:05. It may seem like leaving early doesn't impact your learner, but minutes even at the end of the day still carry lessons on our minor subjects of Science and Social Studies. The learning base with these subjects starts in PreK and Kinder. Leaving 20 minutes early every day could remove your learner from an entire subject lesson of science!!! Please be mindful of when and how often your student misses class for reasons outside of illness.
