Weekly Message from the Principal

Thank you so much for joining us at our Literacy Night last week and for showing your school spirit at Culver’s Spirit Night! Your presence and support truly make a difference, and we loved seeing our community come together to celebrate learning and connection.
Last week was packed with joy and excitement! Our students had a blast at the PBIS Rewards Glow Party, celebrating their positive behavior with music, lights, and laughter. Fourth Grade also transformed into an Ice Cream Parlor for Transformation Day, and it was a sweet success—literally!
Looking ahead, we’re excited to continue our Book Fair and welcome our Kindergarten families to Pumpkins with Pops next week. These moments continue to build strong partnerships between school and home, and we’re grateful for your involvement every step of the way.

Be sure to review the full newsletter to stay in the know about all the exciting things happening this month. Thank you for your continued support and partnership!
Warmly,
Brittany D. Carpenter

Important School Information

School Meals

  • You may use school cafe to add funds to your student's account for breakfast or lunch purchases.
  • Parents may attend lunch with their students. Please bring your ID and check in with the office prior to lunch start time.
  • To preview school menus, please visit the child nutrition website.
  • If you are delivering lunch for your student, please plan to bring it at least 15 minutes before their lunchtime. We will not accept food delivery services for students.
  • If sending a lunch for your child, remember we are a nut-free school. Students who bring items with nuts will be seated at a separate table during lunch; we recommend avoiding this as much as possible.
  • For snacks- please only send one snack, as this is a working snack time within the classroom. Ensure you send a snack that is not messy and does not need utensils. (Such as- Goldfish, pretzels, or animal crackers!😊) Nut products are not permitted during snack.
  • Breakfast doors close at 7:43 AM. Please arrive no later than 7:40 AM if your child needs to eat breakfast. Instruction begins in classes at 7:45AM.

car line instructions

Car Rider Line

Morning Drop-Off

To ensure a smooth and safe drop-off for all students, please remember to utilize both drop-off lanes.

1. Enter the drop-off line and use both lanes.
2. Pull all the way forward to the furthest available cone before stopping. This keeps the line moving and prevents traffic from backing up onto the street.
3. Zipper merge as you get closer to the drop-off zone. Drivers in both lanes should take turns merging into a single lane.
4. Drop-off is a kiss-and-go zone. For the safety of everyone, please have your child ready to exit the vehicle from the passenger side and say your goodbyes before you arrive at the curb.
5. Students should exit cars quickly and safely. Staff will be on hand to assist.

Thank you for helping us make mornings safe and efficient for our students!

Afternoon Pick-Up Instructions

To keep the pick-up line moving smoothly and to prevent traffic congestion, we ask all parents to utilize both lanes and zipper merge.

1. Enter the car rider line and use both lanes.
2. Pull all the way forward to the furthest available spot in your lane. This helps accommodate as many cars as possible.
3. As you approach the pick-up zone, zipper merge. Drivers in both lanes should alternate, taking turns to merge into a single lane as they approach the front of the line.
4. Stay in your vehicle for the entire pick-up process.
5. Have your student's car tag clearly visible on your dashboard or visor.

Your cooperation in using both lanes and zipper merging makes the process faster and safer for everyone. We appreciate your patience and help in keeping our students safe!

Transportation Changes & Early Pick Up

Transportation changes will not be accepted after 2:10 pm or 10:45 on early release dates. To submit a transportation change, please call the office at (832) 223-6500 or write a note for your child to bring with them, reflecting the transportation changes. Neither email nor voicemail is an approved method of communication for transportation changes.

You may check out your child early if needed for doctor's appointments or other necessary reasons until 2:30 PM on full days or 10:05 on early release dates. Please limit this as much as possible, as we are actively instructing and learning until 3:05 PM each day. If your student repeatedly leaves early, they are potentially missing key information.
